Resistance risk assessment and management for Bt cotton in Vietnam.

This chapter establishes a series of informational needs that are essential to completing an assessment of resistance risk and the development of a practical resistance management plan for the deployment of Bt cotton. It deals with the specific cases of the introduction of either Bollgard II cotton or a VIP3A cotton to the cropping system of Vietnam. A comprehensive assessment of the pest/plant system and ecological attributes of the pests that help to define the risk of resistance and indicate possible resistance management approaches is presented.
